Abstract:
This COBRE grant funds investigators from the Department of Microbiology, Molecular Biology and Biochemistry and the Department of Animal Veterinary Sciences to research the molecular and cellular basis of host-pathogen interactions. This funding will provide these investigators the opportunity to develop nationally competitive research programs in areas including bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic mechanisms of disease. Funding will also provide resources to recruit top students and researchers and to enhance core facilities.
