History of NAIPI
The National Association of IDeA Principal Investigators (NAIPI) includes members from the 23 states that are part of the Institutional Development Awards (IDeA) network. The association represents the Principal Investigators from each IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) and Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) in those states.
The NAIPI’s 20-member executive committee assists the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), a division of the National Institutes of Health, in strengthening research in those 23 IDeA-eligible states. Committee members serve two-year terms and meet in Washington, D.C.
The IDeA program supports biomedical research infrastructure in states with historically low levels of NIH research funding.
