BRE Center for Translational Neurosciences is enjoying preliminary success with its Telemedicine approach to low birth weight babies. Telemedicine offers physicians the benefit of remote diagnosis and treatment through electronic communication. The project is looking at the effects of telecommunications on infant mortality in Arkansas, a rural state with high infant mortality. The study also looks at the barriers to regionalization through chart review and the effects of telemedicine on perinatal regionalization. Read More
