On behalf of the Kansas IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (K-INBRE) and the Kansas Centers for Biomedical Research Excellence (COBREs), we would like to invite you to attend the Central Region IDeA Conference at the InterContinental Hotel on the Plaza on May 20-22, 2013.
The Scientific Organizing Committee is working hard to put together an exciting and diverse program to showcase and promote the objectives and scientific accomplishments of the IDeA Program, including both Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBREs) and IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBREs) from Oklahoma, Nebraska, the Dakotas and Kansas. We will have an impressive list of invited lecturers and will provide more information on that as the time draws near. In addition to the lectures, we will feature oral and poster presentations covering a broad range of biomedical research from the Central Region, and a friendly atmosphere conducive to open discussions and exchange of ideas on science and training.
The venue we’ve selected for the Kansas City conference is the Intercontinental Hotel. Adjacent to the vibrant and exciting Country Club Plaza, the location offers many attractions and activities. We will be very close to downtown Kansas City, the KU Medical Center, and the Stowers Institute for Medical Research. Less than a mile from the hotel is the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art and many other famous Kansas City landmarks.
The conference will open on Monday, May 20, with an evening reception and IDeA Regional Core Facility Marketplace. On Tuesday morning, the scientific program will continue with plenary lectures, keynote presentations in selected areas of scientific investigation and poster presentations. Representatives from the NIH/NIGMS will bring us up to date on the latest news from Bethesda. The conference will wrap up at noon on Wednesday.
Please mark May 20-22, 2013 on your calendar.
